We have not built a separate virtual offering with a different process or a shorter framework. What we offer virtually is exactly what we offer in person — the full TTRITF journey, with a registered therapist, over eight structured sessions, at our standard rates.

The Tiny Room Integrated Therapeutic Framework — TTRITF — is an evidence-based, structured 8-week therapeutic process that draws from three of the most powerful approaches in mental health treatment:

CBT — Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

To identify and interrupt the thought patterns that are driving your anxiety, depression, suicidal thinking, or whatever brought you here. The virtual format changes nothing about the effectiveness of CBT — the work happens in the conversation, and the conversation happens just as powerfully over a screen.

Logotherapy

To help you reconnect with meaning and purpose — particularly powerful for people who have been going through the motions without feeling like any of it matters. Viktor Frankl’s work translates powerfully to virtual space because it is fundamentally about language, reflection, and the therapeutic relationship. None of that is diminished by a screen.

ACT — Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

To teach you how to move forward even when everything still feels difficult. To carry what you are carrying differently. To commit to a life that reflects your values, from wherever you are currently living that life.

What virtual sessions look like:

Sessions are 55 minutes long, conducted via a secure video platform, at a scheduled time that works for you. You will need a device with a camera and microphone, a reasonably stable internet connection, and a private space where you can speak freely. Everything else — the structure, the expertise, the process — we bring.

The Tiny Room comes to you. The work doesn’t change. The results don’t change. Only the distance does.

THE PROCESS

Here is exactly what your virtual 8 weeks looks like.

The same clear, structured journey as our in-person process — delivered entirely online, from your first contact to your final session.

Step 1 — You complete our intake form.

It takes about ten minutes and can be completed from anywhere. It asks you about what you have been experiencing, what brought you here, and what you need right now. You don’t need to have everything figured out. Just be honest. That honesty is what allows us to match you with the right therapist and show up for you properly from session one.

Step 2 — We contact you within one business day.

A member of our team will reach out personally to confirm your details, answer any questions about the virtual process, and book your first session. You will not be left wondering whether anyone received your form. We do not miss people who reach out to us.

Step 3 — You attend your first virtual session.

We will send you a secure link before your first session. You click it at your scheduled time, from whatever private space works for you. This is where you meet your therapist, understand the full TTRITF process, and begin. No travel. No waiting rooms. Just you, your therapist, and the work.

Step 4 — You commit to your eight weeks.

Each virtual session builds deliberately on the one before it. The structure is what makes the process work — and that is just as true online as it is in person. We ask for the same commitment we ask of our in-person clients: eight consistent sessions, one per week, fully engaged. Your progress depends on it, and you deserve to give yourself that.

Step 5 — You leave with something that lasts.

By the end of your eighth session you will have tools, insight, and a relationship with your own mind that is fundamentally different to the one you logged in with eight weeks earlier. The process works. The format does not diminish that. What changes is simply where you were when it happened — and the fact that where you were didn’t stop you from getting there.

Effective therapy does not require you to be in a room. It requires you to be present. And you can do that from anywhere.

PRICING AND ACCESS

Our virtual sessions are priced identically to our in-person sessions — because the value of the process does not change based on the medium. You receive the same registered therapist, the same TTRITF framework, and the same 55-minute session. The only difference is that you save the cost and time of getting there.

The standard market rate for registered professional therapy in South Africa is R1,200 or more per session. We charge less because we believe that access to quality mental health support should not be a privilege. Virtual therapy extends that access even further — to anyone in South Africa with a device and a private space.

Medical Aid

We are linked to most major medical aids in South Africa. Before completing our intake form we strongly recommend that you contact your medical aid directly to confirm whether they will reimburse our procedure code 89205 for virtual sessions. Many medical aids do. One call could mean your therapy costs you significantly less than you think.

If you have a formal PMB — Prescribed Minimum Benefit — diagnosis, you may qualify for full or partial medical aid coverage. Simply email your proof of PMB diagnosis to us at [email protected] and we will complete the necessary application on your behalf.
