If you have been living with anxiety, depression, or a heaviness you cannot fully explain — functioning every day while carrying something that never fully goes away — you have found the right place. The Tiny Room is a private therapy practice in Cape Town’s Northern Suburbs and we are here to guide you towards a life that feels lighter, clearer, and genuinely worth living.
You don’t have to be in crisis to deserve help. Struggling quietly for years is reason enough.
You wake up most mornings already tired. Not from lack of sleep — from the weight of everything you carry before the day has even started. The anxiety that sits in your chest like something you can’t put down. The low hum of sadness that follows you through days that look perfectly fine from the outside.
You function. You show up. You do what needs to be done. And then you come home and wonder why everything still feels so hard when nothing is technically wrong.
Maybe you have felt this way for so long that you have started to believe it is just who you are. Maybe you have told yourself that other people have it worse and you don’t have the right to struggle. Maybe you have tried to explain it to someone close to you and watched them not quite understand — and decided it was easier to stop trying.
You are not broken. You are not weak. You are not being dramatic.
You are a person whose mind has been carrying more than it was designed to carry alone — for longer than anyone should have to. And the fact that you have kept going, kept functioning, kept showing up despite all of it is not evidence that you are fine. It is evidence of how hard you have been working just to get through each day.
There is a different way to live. Not a perfect way — a genuinely lighter, clearer, more present way. And it is closer than you think.
This is not another thing that almost works.
This is a process that does.
This is not another thing that almost works. This is a process that does.
If you have tried therapy before and found yourself going in circles — or tried to manage this alone and found that it keeps coming back — what you have not yet tried is a structured, purposeful process with a clear destination. That is what we offer.
The Tiny Room offers one therapeutic process — The Tiny Room Integrated Therapeutic Framework, or TTRITF. It is an evidence-based, structured 8-week journey designed for people who are done managing their anxiety and depression and ready to actually move through it.
We did not design TTRITF for people who want to talk about their feelings indefinitely. We designed it for people who want to understand what is driving their anxiety and depression, interrupt it at its root, and build a life that does not revolve around managing symptoms forever.
TTRITF draws from three of the most powerful therapeutic approaches available for anxiety and depression:
CBT — Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
To identify and interrupt the specific thought patterns that are generating your anxiety and feeding your depression. Because anxiety and depression are not personality traits — they are patterns. And patterns, with the right guidance, can be healthily progressed.
Logotherapy
To help you reconnect with meaning and purpose — particularly powerful for people who have been going through the motions without feeling like any of it matters. Viktor Frankl’s work translates powerfully to virtual space because it is fundamentally about language, reflection, and the therapeutic relationship. None of that is diminished by a screen.
ACT — Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
To teach you how to move forward even when everything still feels difficult. To carry what you are carrying differently. To commit to a life that reflects your values, from wherever you are currently living that life.
Together these three approaches give you a complete, structured, evidence-based journey — delivered in the format that works for your life, without sacrificing any of the substance that makes the process work.
Eight weeks to understand yourself in a way you never have before. Eight weeks to build something that lasts.
Here is exactly what your 8 weeks looks like.
No surprises. No unknowns.
Here is exactly what your 8 weeks looks like. No surprises. No unknowns.
We know that for someone living with anxiety, the unknown is often the hardest part. So we are going to tell you exactly what happens from the moment you reach out to us to the moment you leave your final session.
Step 1 — You complete our intake form.
It takes about ten minutes. It asks you about what you have been experiencing, how long you have been carrying it, and what you need right now. There are no wrong answers and nothing you write will surprise or overwhelm us. We have heard it all — and we have guided people through all of it. Just be honest. That honesty is what allows us to show up for you properly from session one.
Step 2 — We contact you within one business day.
A member of our team will reach out personally to answer any questions, confirm your details, and book your first session. You will not be left waiting in silence. We don’t miss people who reach out to us.
Step 3 — You attend your first session.
This is where you meet your therapist, understand the TTRITF process in full, and begin. You don’t need to arrive with a neat summary of your anxiety or a clear explanation of your depression. Most people can’t fully articulate what they are carrying — that is precisely why they are there. You just need to arrive. We take it from there.
Step 4 — You commit to your eight weeks.
Each session builds deliberately on the one before it. This is not a process you can dip in and out of — the structure is what makes it work. For someone navigating anxiety and depression, consistency is not just helpful. It is the difference between progress and staying exactly where you are. We ask for your commitment because your progress depends on it.
Step 5 — You leave with something that lasts.
By the end of your eighth session the anxiety will not have the same grip. The depression will not feel as absolute. You will have tools, insight, and a relationship with your own mind that is fundamentally different to the one you arrived with. Not managed. Not suppressed. Genuinely, measurably different.
The hardest part is not the eight weeks. The hardest part is deciding to start. Everything after that, we do together.
Professional therapy for anxiety and depression that does not cost you a year's salary.
We structured our rates deliberately below the standard market rate for registered professional therapy in South Africa because we believe that the cost of getting better should never be the reason someone stays stuck.
The standard market rate for registered professional therapy in South Africa is R1,200 or more per session. Our rates are deliberately structured to make expert, evidence-based therapy accessible to anyone who needs it — without compromising on the quality of care you receive.
Medical Aid
We are linked to most major medical aids in South Africa. Before completing our intake form we strongly recommend that you contact your medical aid directly to confirm whether they will reimburse our procedure code 89205. One call could mean your therapy costs you significantly less than you think.
If you have a formal PMB — Prescribed Minimum Benefit — diagnosis, you may qualify for full or partial medical aid coverage. Simply email your proof of PMB diagnosis to us at [email protected] and we will complete the necessary application on your behalf.
Questions about medical aid or pricing? Contact us before completing the form. We will answer everything you need to know so that nothing stands between you and getting better.
You have talked yourself out of this before.
Don't do it again.
Distance is no longer a barrier. Your schedule is no longer a barrier. Having to show up somewhere is no longer a barrier. The only thing left between where you are right now and the support you have needed is one form.
You deserve the same care and attention you give to everyone else in your life. It is time to give some of it to yourself.
We know how this moment feels. You have been reading this page and something in you has been nodding along. Something in you recognises itself in these words. And now that same something is quietly starting to talk you out of it.
It’s telling you that you can manage a little longer. That it’s not bad enough yet. That you don’t have the time or the money or the energy to add something else to your life right now. Maybe next month will be better.
We want to say something important to that voice.
It has been wrong before. And it is wrong now.
The anxiety and the depression you have been carrying are not going to resolve themselves with more time. They have already had time. What they have not had is the right structured, purposeful, expertly guided process to move through them — and come out the other side genuinely different.
That process exists. It is eight weeks long. It starts with one form and one brave click.
You have spent long enough being the person who almost got help. Today you get to be the person who did.
